I’m waiting for Google ads to be approved on this site at the moment (done). I have three initial goals for the monetisation of this blog, which currently earns absolutely nothing a few pounds a month, and was created in July 2024. I’m aiming to reach all of these within the next six months, preferably within three. I’m reinstating all my original and widespread content here on one site and I am hopeful that it won’t take too long to rebuild the lost traffic. Note that my traffic has never been especially high – see blog goal number 3.

Blogging Goal Number 1

Status: Achieved! As of 12 September 2024
Time taken: 62 days

Surpass the current (very low) earnings from the old neglected programming blog I have now incorporated into this site.

I’ve had a programming blog since about 2011. I haven’t updated it in years, but the articles I wrote still hold some value and get search traffic. Looking at the final month of traffic and ad revenue, I can see the site’s estimated earnings from AdSense in June 2024 were £1.15. In the same period, I earned £0 on Amazon Associates (my only affiliate program).

Blogging Goal Number 2

Status: In Progress

Surpass the combined earnings of the three neglected blogs I had running simultaneously that are now being incorporated into this site, just before I deleted two of them back in June 2023 (this was a mistake! Never, ever delete a blog you have spent time building). Estimated earnings for May 2023 were £12.14 from Adsense and £1.03 from Amazon Affiliates. Total: £13.07.

Blogging Goal Number 3

Surpass the combined earnings of my highest earning month from when I had three blogs running. I can see that the monthly estimated earnings for January 2022 were £48.17, and my Amazon earnings for January 2022 were £1.89. Total £50.06.
