50 Self Care Ideas (That Don’t Involve Shopping!)
1. Go for a walk
2. Read a book
3. Listen to music you love
4. Put some music on and dance
5. Listen to a new artist
6. Watch a film you love
7. Watch a comedy and laugh out loud
8. Eat a salad
9. Cook a healthy meal at home
10. Make a green smoothie, or juice
11. Have an early night
12. Have a lie-in
13. Have a movie night with your pets, kids, friends or partner
14. Chat with a friend
15. Visit a free museum or gallery
16. Draw or colour something (it doesn’t matter if it’s good or not)
17. Designate a day to do NOTHING at all
18. Have an electronics-free morning or afternoon
19. Shave your legs and put clean sheets on your bed
20. Try meditation
21. Have a nap in the daytime
22. Try out a new hairstyle on yourself
23. Dust your bike off and go for a ride
24. Sit outside and enjoy just being there
25. Plan meals for the next few days or for the week
26. Moisturise your feet
27. Unfollow negative people on social media
28. Take some deep breaths and tell yourself it’s all going to be okay 29. Do five minutes of yoga/stretching

36. Have a good cry and don’t feel bad about it. When you’re done, smile.
37. Set a daily digital curfew. Don’t check anything after this time until the following day.
38. Forgive yourself – and mean it
39. Slow right down and do everything with intention instead of against the clock. You can hurry another day.
40. Lie or sit on the floor next to your child while they play
41. Do a puzzle – a real one!
42. Text a family member and tell them you love them
43. Have a shower and get into your pyjamas straight after work
44. Write down a list of compliments people have given you
45. Drink a big glass of water
46. Sniff a scent you love: e.g. perfume, essential oil, or cut grass.
47. Find nature sounds on youtube and sit and listen to them
48. Wear something smarter than usual
49. Make your own list of self-care rituals and stick it inside your wardrobe door
50. If you can afford it, book a massage (Groupon is a good place to find local deals). Not free, but totally worth it.
